Overview

• Travel assignment in Salem, Virginia
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Unit: 631/ East Progressive Unit
• 15-bed unit on the 3rd floor of Main Campus Salem

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with cardiac rhythms and surgical patients
• Experience with chest tube management
• Experience with epidurals
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and EP studies
• Experience with device placements

Preferred

• Teamwork ability
• Time management with high turnover of patients

Unit Details

• Staffed by 22 total staff members (RN/PCT)
• Day shift staffing: 3-4 RN, 2 PCT, 1 Clinical Coordinator
• Night shift staffing: 3-4 RN, 1 PCT
• Patient ratio: 4-5/1
• Equipment includes Cardiac Telemetry, chest tubes, and cardiac drips such as NTG, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
• Typical procedures include post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes, post-op surgical patients, critical drips, epidurals, and PCA

Floating

• ICU taking PCU type patients
• PCU
• Med-surg taking 5 patients

Schedule

• Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts

Work Environment

• Navy or white scrubs, can mix or match
