Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science
- Medical Lab Scientist experience within the last year
- 1 year of Medical Lab Scientist experience
- MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)
Relevant Experience
- Prior POCT experience
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the POCT program
- Investigate new methodologies, instrumentation, and systems
- Coordinate evaluation and implementation of testing methodologies and instrumentation
- Develop and validate processes and written procedures for new or modified testing processes
- Support data management system workstation functions, including maintenance, system checks, flag review, unknown operator investigation, approved operator list maintenance, and patient identification error investigation
- Standardize test procedures across sites when possible
- Review POCT manuals at all sites annually
- Collaborate with leadership and administrative staff to write and implement POCT policies
- Coordinate POCT processes such as quality control, proficiency testing, inventory control, compliance audits, and POCT information systems
