MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Shift: Nights (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 17 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule includes:
    • Friday: 8-hour shift (11 PM - 7 AM)
    • Saturday & Sunday: 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
    • Monday: 8-hour shift (11 PM - 7 AM)
  • No on-call duties
  • Primary work location is a major hospital with possible coverage at a secondary hospital depending on operational needs
  • Start dates available: June 29, July 6, or July 13, 2026

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Certification:
    • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR
    • ARRT Magnetic Resonance (MR) certification
  • Completion of a formal program at a school specializing in radiologic technology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
  • Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems after hire
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID form required prior to start
  • Drug screening required per clinical standards
  • Physical exam must be collected to meet agency standards (not facility required)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Tuberculosis (TB) testing: IGRA blood test or two-step skin test with documentation as applicable
  • Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer (history of chickenpox not accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination form
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
  • Additional vaccines or declinations may be required based on department assignment (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)

Testing & Competency Requirements

  • Facility-specific telemetry testing and competency exams may be required depending on assignment
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Annual skills checklist and other competency verifications required

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
  • Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing as applicable
  • Employment application and 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required

Notes

  • No education verification required for travelers due to certification requirements
  • Renewal plans for certifications must be finalized by the 15th of the month prior to expiration; temporary proof accepted to continue working
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
