Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Shift: Day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 5 days per week, 40 hours total
Weekend Requirement: One weekend per month, as scheduled
Holidays: Required as they fall, as scheduled
Floating: No floating
On-call: No on-call


Job Description

  • Provide physical therapy care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Patient population includes all levels of spinal cord injury/disorders, neurological disorders, or disorders with similar presentations.
  • Use of special equipment such as Hoyer lifts, overhead lifts, and body weight supported devices.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Documentation and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted).
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required for:
    • TB (negative test or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination; series not accepted)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (for 2025-26 season)
  • COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation or declination collected for tracking.
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start.
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start.
  • Verification of previous 5 years of employment history.

Additional Notes

  • Photo for badge required (passport-style with solid white/beige background).
  • Confidentiality agreement and dress code review required prior to start.
  • No floating or on-call duties.
  • One weekend per month and holidays as scheduled are mandatory.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized inpatient rehab setting focusing on neurological and spinal cord injury patients with access to advanced assistive devices.
