Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for Maternal Child Services specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role involves working day shifts (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) with a requirement to work every 3rd weekend and one holiday during the contract. The nurse may float within their scope to assist other units as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Work Environment & Benefits
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week).
- Parking: Free parking in any unrestricted space.
- Scrub Color: Provided by the facility.
- On-call: Not required.
- Block Scheduling: May be accommodated at manager’s discretion.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Criminal background check within 12 months prior to start.
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and other state-specific background checks as applicable.
- Primary source license verification and NURSYS verification prior to start.
- Negative drug screen within 12 months of start date.
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
- Fit mask testing and OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start (fit testing completed onsite during orientation).
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (renewed annually).
- TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months.
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccination proof.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (for new candidates).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists.
- Completion of confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct prior to start.
- Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, plain background).
Additional Notes
- Travelers may be required to participate in holiday rotation; request time off (RTO) should be submitted upfront.
- Returning candidates with less than 6 months gap may not need to redo modules if transcript is on file.
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
