Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU
Location
- Arlington, Virginia

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (option for 4 shifts per week with overtime after 48 hours)
- Every other weekend required

Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the CVICU
- Ability to float to regular ICU (may include COVID-19 patients), cardiovascular stepdown, and/or cardiac telemetry unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Ability to float to related units as needed
- EPIC clinical documentation experience required:
- If 6+ months EPIC experience in past 12 months: CLIN DOC ACCELERATED class (approx. 4 hours of modules)
- If less than 6 months EPIC experience: CLIN DOC 2 DAY class (no modules)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation and approval
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, including assessment of ability to meet physical demands
- Fit mask test within last 12 months (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Tuberculosis (negative test or chest X-ray within 1 year)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for ICU and related units)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Completed employment application/resume
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable (including medication, dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
- Annual core training parts I, II, and III
- Completion of facility-specific documents and acknowledgements prior to start (e.g., confidentiality, code of ethics, dress code, infection control, parking, vendor access, etc.)
- EPIC training modules completion as required before or onsite at start
Additional Notes
- Candidate must wear both agency and facility badges at all times
- COVID-19 patients may be encountered; flexibility to float to different units is required
- Facility requires review and approval of any flu vaccine exemptions
- Orientation includes HIPAA and core testing
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
