Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Night shift: 3x12, 18:45–07:15
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience with colostomy care
- Experience with accessing ports
- Experience with blood product administration
- Experience with central line blood draw
- Experience with PICC lines
- Experience with heparin
- Experience with insulin
- Experience with surgical drains
- Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Willingness to obtain ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification
Unit Details
- Unit cares for patients receiving chemotherapy
- Typical ratio: 1:6
- Ratios may be higher during increased census
- Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding in the ED and other alternate medical patient care locations
- Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
- Every other weekend required
- Attendance at monthly staff meetings is required
- Navy blue and white scrubs

- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Heparin drips
Orientation
- 24 hours, 2 shifts
Additional Notes
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team duties
- May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur
- EKG testing is required for this specialty
