<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 5x8hrs</li><li>Hours: 40 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 14, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring OASIS and HCHB proficiency along with a VA or compact RN license.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Adult home health setting serving a geriatric patient population</li><li>Territory covers the Suffolk/Portsmouth or Newport News/Hampton (Peninsula) areas</li><li>Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day</li><li>Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM</li><li>Uses HCHB (Homecare Homebase) EMR system</li><li>On-call required on a rotating 1-week basis, likely once during the contract</li><li>Weekend rotation required, likely once during the contract</li><li>iPad provided for documentation, personal cell phone use not required</li><li>Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration</li><li>Current BLS certification required</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant home health experience required</li><li>OASIS experience required for completing Start of Care (SOC) assessments</li><li>Proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) charting system required</li><li>Active driver's license and personal transportation required</li><li>First-time travelers will not be considered for this position</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Responsibilities include admission assessments, discharge planning, recertification, resumption of care, routine visits, and start of care documentation</li><li>Skilled in wound/integumentary care, medication administration and management, and pain assessment using verbal and nonverbal scales</li><li>Experience with IM, IV, and subcutaneous medication administration, as well as phlebotomy and IV management</li><li>Knowledgeable in infection control precautions</li><li>Timely communication and documentation are mandatory</li><li>Scrubs required in any color, no jeans permitted</li><li>Orientation occurs on Mondays and includes billable training modules</li><li>RTO must be submitted at the time of application</li><li>Former permanent employees must be separated for a minimum of 6 months and approved by HR before returning as a traveler</li><li>Travel pairs accepted, with each traveler assigned to their own territory and requiring their own transportation</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the travel rate</li></ul>
