Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with proficiency in Interventional Radiology (IR) to circulate IR procedures, administer moderate sedation, and provide vascular access care. The role involves working with high-acuity patients undergoing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Procedural experience in Operating Room (OR) / Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Experience in Cath Lab, including Cardiac Cath Lab
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Weekend work: Every other weekend required
- On-call: Every 3rd week (Monday to Sunday)
- Holiday work: Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays as needed
- Floating: Must float within skillset without exception; ratios vary by census and acuity
- Locals and first-time travelers accepted
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
Background & Verification
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
- Employment verification with 7 years of work history and 2 references (one managerial) within last 2 years
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test)
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
Health & Safety
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Fit test and Respiratory Medical Clearance required prior to start; on-site fit testing mandatory
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire if job tasks require glove use
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination
- Annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment required
Competency & Testing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 72 hours of signing, required within 12 months of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for critical care and telemetry units
- IV Therapy/Infusion exam required for all RNs (except OR specialties)
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge with remediation policy
- Stroke and trauma CEUs required for applicable units
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide a government-issued photo ID and driver’s license within 48 hours of signing
- Priority given to candidates who submit requests for return to office (RTO) and scheduling with proof before offer
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Candidates must complete annual education and facility-specific orientation requirements prior to start
- Floating policy must be completed for every new assignment or site transfer
