EEG Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day/Evening shifts, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Rotating weekends
- No on-call required
Job Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
- EEG Technologist experience within the last year
Licensure & Certification
- Graduate of an approved Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program or equivalent clinical experience (2 years combination of training and experience)
- National certification/verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
Testing & Competencies
- Pass/Fail Telemetry testing (adult and pediatric as applicable) required prior to start and updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Competency exams as applicable to specialty
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring after hire
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
- Education verification required for specialty
- Drug screening required for clinical candidates per standard (not required annually)
- Physical exam must meet agency standards (within 1 year)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; exemptions accepted with documentation
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive titer or facility-specific declination form required for direct patient care roles
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required for candidates working in Microbiology
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Wisconsin BID form (state-mandated) prior to start
- Submission of 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
- Passport-style photo for badge issuance (specific photo guidelines apply)
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Facility-specific exemption forms for flu, MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B as applicable
Notes
- Candidates without R EEGT certification may be considered for day shifts if experience requirements are met
- Facility requires strict adherence to certification renewal timelines and testing remediation processes
- Remediation courses and multiple attempts allowed for telemetry testing with cancellation after third failed attempt
This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with a focus on epilepsy monitoring and advanced neurodiagnostic procedures in a Level 1 trauma or teaching hospital setting.
