Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Cardiac Stepdown (2 years of experience)
Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Stepdown experience
Telemetry experience

Preferred Experience

Experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery patients within the past year
CVICU experience

Unit Details

40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit
Primary patient population includes cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and overflow medical cardiology patients
Typical patient ratio: 1:5 per RN

Common Responsibilities

Epidural management
Chest tube management
Tube feedings
IV gluccomander
Cardiac drip management

Scheduling / Work Expectations

No call
Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Holiday flexibility required

Floating

May float to stepdown, med-surg, or inpatient ER holding areas
