Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Sylva, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 5-bed Labor and Delivery unit within an 86-bed acute care hospital.
• Patient population includes adults and neonates.
• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM, 36 hours per week with rotated weekends.
• No call requirements.
• Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:1.
• Electronic Health Record system: Paragon.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Competency in reading fetal heart rate tracings.

Unit and Work Environment

• Labor and Delivery department with a focus on pregnancy-related care.
• Team-oriented and friendly work culture.
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified.

Additional Information

• No float requirements.
• No call responsibilities.
• Patient care involves common diagnoses and treatments related to pregnancy.
• Orientation schedule available throughout the year.
