Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Concord, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour days (7:00 am - 3:30 pm), 7 days a week

Rotating weekends every third weekend
Holidays required
No on-call

Job Summary

Perform a wide variety of diagnostic cardiographic testing on patients under the direction of physicians, including operating ultrasound equipment and assisting with specialized echo studies.

Key Responsibilities

Operate ultrasound equipment to perform and interpret M-Mode, 2D, Color Doppler, Pulsed and Continuous Wave Doppler, Stress Echo, Stress Doppler ultrasound, and Trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
Conduct non-invasive examinations using phono-apexcardiograms, imaging duplex, and ultrasound equipment.
Analyze patient clinical history to tailor examinations to clinical questions.
Position patients and operate equipment to obtain reliable diagnostic data.
Evaluate and analyze recordings during procedures.
Explain procedures to patients.
Perform EKGs, stress tests, and Holter monitoring.
Assist Cardiologists with TEE and Dobutamine echo examinations.
Process, distribute, and ensure timely billing of reports.
Maintain quality standards for testing and equipment.
Uphold patient rights to care, privacy, and respect.

Required Qualifications

Current registration as RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer).
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Completion of a Certified Ultrasound program, specifically a Cardiac Sonography certificate accredited by CAAHEP or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience performing and interpreting 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler echocardiograms.
Prior travel experience required.

Work Environment

40 hours per week
Day shift, Monday through Sunday coverage
Rotating weekends and holiday work required
