Required Qualifications

• Active RN role for this assignment
• 2 years of core experience in the specialty
• Level I trauma experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Cerner EMR experience
• Must be able to pass the dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts
• Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
• Must be able to work the facility’s required SIMs Lab and day 1 pass/fail exam

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Weekly orientations on Mondays except holiday weeks
• 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
• Holidays are worked into rotation
• May be placed on standby
• May float to MedSurg Tele floors and to other campuses
• First to float

Unit Details

• 21 to 23 beds
• Typical ratio: 1:4 to 1:5
• Charge nurse may take an assignment when short staffed
• 1 PCT per shift
• Centrally monitored telemetry; RNs read strips
• RT and pharmacy available 24/7
• RN titrates drips

Patient Population

• Observation patients including CP, syncope, appendicitis, cholecystectomy, hand surgeries, fundoplications, OBGYN post-op, and trauma observation patients

Additional Notes

• Navy scrubs
• No facial piercings
• Natural hair colors only
• Must have own vehicle if traveling as part of a team
• Cannot work another assignment or contract at the same time
• Must have been away from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment
