Radiology Technologist

Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (Friday to Sunday, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer, operating X-ray imaging equipment, assisting with examinations, and ensuring image quality for radiologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and operate all related imaging equipment safely and effectively.
• Educate, position, and immobilize patients appropriately for imaging.
• Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of care.
• Submit images and clinical information to radiologists for interpretation.
• Evaluate image quality and follow radiation safety measures (ALARA) to protect patients and staff.
• Prepare and administer contrast agents per radiologist protocols.
• Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
• Communicate clearly and diplomatically with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
• Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Supervise and evaluate student radiographers in clinical settings.
• Utilize and maintain department supplies appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist within the last year.
• Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Required.
• CT certification.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention.
• Competence in radiation safety practices.

Additional Information

• Weekend work required (Friday through Sunday nights).
• Personal radiation monitoring badge will be provided if not already available.
