Radiology Technologist
Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (Friday to Sunday, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer, operating X-ray imaging equipment, assisting with examinations, and ensuring image quality for radiologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and operate all related imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients appropriately for imaging.
- Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of care.
- Submit images and clinical information to radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality and follow radiation safety measures (ALARA) to protect patients and staff.
- Prepare and administer contrast agents per radiologist protocols.
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
- Communicate clearly and diplomatically with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise and evaluate student radiographers in clinical settings.
- Utilize and maintain department supplies appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist within the last year.
- Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Required.
- CT certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication within a multi-functional team.
- Ability to multitask and function successfully in a service-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention.
- Competence in radiation safety practices.
Additional Information
- Weekend work required (Friday through Sunday nights).
- Personal radiation monitoring badge will be provided if not already available.
