Shift: Evening (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
Job Description
- Operate CT equipment (CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, Patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images for physician use.
- Ensure proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and use of protective shielding.
- Select appropriate imaging factors and image designated body parts.
- Explain exams to patients considering their physical and emotional needs while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, following all contrast policies.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation daily; report malfunctions.
- Complete Radiology Information System tasks (scheduling, exam completion, image transfer).
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and maintain continuing education units (CEUs) per Massachusetts licensure and ARRT requirements.
- May oversee and instruct radiology and technology students.
- Prepare equipment rooms and stock supplies.
- Participate in research, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
- Assume on-call coverage and remain flexible with shift coverage and overtime.
- Transport and transfer patients according to departmental guidelines.
- Use independent judgment and initiative under pressure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist and CT Technologist licenses.
- Registration in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, with at least 1 year specifically in CT.
- Level 1 trauma and Siemens CT equipment experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients under physical or emotional stress.
- Analytical abilities to understand imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.
Certifications and Compliance Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted in some cases).
- Current N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing).
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation if fit test required.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, and exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid lists) within 45 days prior to start date and updated annually.
- Verification of professional license and education.
- Submission of a recent professional color photo (no selfies, filters, headwear, or eyeglasses).
- Submission of resume with 7 years of work experience including city and state.
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year.
- Confirmation of assignment form required for onboarding.

- Must be willing to rotate within the department, divisions, and off-site clinics.
- Must be flexible with shift coverage, overtime, and on-call responsibilities.
