Role Overview
- Travel/Contract RN position in Aurora, Colorado
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
- 36 staffed beds
- Unit uses Epic
- Scrub color: Navy
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in a Teaching Hospital setting
- Surgical Oncology experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Weekend availability per unit needs
- Floating as required, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
- Comfortable working with flexible staffing ratios
- 2 references from the last two years, with one from the last year; both must be from Charge RN, Manager, Supervisor, or above
- 3 years of employment history with gaps greater than 30 days explained
- Work history verification for the last 3 years, including most recent employer
- Employment application with current/valid phone number and email address
- Drivers License/State ID
- E-Verify or attestation
- Proof of name change if applicable
- 7-year background check within 60 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM within 60 days of start
- HHS/OIG within 60 days of start
- Education verification within 60 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 60 days of start
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Competency Exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Core Part I within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Core Part II within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Core Part III within 1 year of start and updated annually
- OSHA Mandatory within 1 year of start and updated annually
- CO CAPS Release Authorization annually
- Employee Data Sheet within 24 hours of signing
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Fit Mask fit test within 12 months of start and updated annually
- Tdap within 10 years of start or signed declination within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start and updated annually
- TB Questionnaire annually for positive TB
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity documentation
- Hepatitis B immunity documentation
- Varicella immunity documentation
- Drug testing within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Color blind exam before start
- COVID vaccine documentation or signed declination

- If this is the traveler’s first travel assignment, teaching hospital experience is required

- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, which may flex based on staffing and unit needs
- May float within scope and to sister facilities based on facility needs
Assignment Notes
- No on-call required
- No chemotherapy certification required
- No chemotherapy or biotherapy is administered on this unit
- Majority of procedures and diagnoses are related to the abdomen or pelvic area, including Gynecologic Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, and Stomach
- Unit primarily cares for patients with a known cancer diagnosis needing surgical interventions and post-op discharge milestones
