Medical Surgical RN

Overview

Travel/Contract assignment in Kalamazoo, Michigan
Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
36 hours per week
Guaranteed hours: 36 or 48
Contract length: 26 weeks
May pick up additional hours PRN
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Float scope: as needed to medical surgical departments
Unit allows first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
Experience with Epic

Schedule Notes

No call requirement
No holiday requests; dates may be discussed with the manager to determine whether the unit can accommodate

Patient Population / Unit Context

Night shift ratios: 1:5–6
No LPN on nights
Charge nurse is free when fully staffed
Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis
