Registered Nurse – MS/Tele (Omaha, Nebraska)

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per week: 36
• Work schedule includes 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (weekends are Saturday and Sunday for day shifts)
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility is 100% nicotine-free
• Floating: Travelers are first to float and must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs; may float to various units including a sister campus 16 minutes away
• Locals not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)

Units and Work Environment

• Units include Medical-Surgical and Telemetry with specialties such as Cardiac, Neuro, Trauma, Oncology, Orthopedics, Transplant, Progressive Care, and Observation
• Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics; LPNs assigned on some floors
• Drip medication administration required on all floors
• EPIC electronic charting system experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver's License
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system

Orientation and Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, including multiple county and federal checks
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Primary source verification of RN license required prior to start
• Annual skills checklist required
• Various certifications and competencies required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification, Medication/Pharmacology competency)
• Physical exam, fit mask test, drug screen, and immunizations/vaccinations required and must be current (including Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, TB screening, flu vaccine documentation or declination)
• COVID vaccination preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
• Eye exam required only for OR assignments (not applicable here)
• State-specific registry checks required within 30 days of start

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Mandatory Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided/sold by facility)
• Parking: Permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates apply
• Up to two weeks of requested time off (RTO) permitted; must be submitted with application
• References: Two work references from past 2 years required (one must be most recent employer if not a current traveler)
