MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Easley, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shift: Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
• Required call rotation one night per week from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend call (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Saturday and Sunday) approximately every 4th weekend, rotating with other techs

Job Responsibilities & Work Environment

• Floating to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where qualified and with documented competencies
• Scrub color: Hunter Green

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic system
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check: 7-year history within 12 months of start, including alias and multi-state searches as applicable
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Drug screening: 5-panel within 12 months, updated annually
• Physical exam: Physician’s statement within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health documents (as applicable):

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years if working/floating in high-risk areas
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for remote workers)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines, with second vaccine pending allowed if completed within 28 days of first
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online modules within 72 hours of assignment (approximately 12 hours) required before start
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation onsite after arrival
• Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain tech roles; not required for prebook or non-clinical candidates
• Annual competencies and core training (Parts I, II, III) including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA blood-borne pathogens, and TJC National Patient Safety Goals

Additional Notes

• Candidates without prior travel experience will be reviewed based on overall experience; first-time travelers may be considered
• Badge photo required prior to start (passport-style, plain background, no obstructions)
• Floating policy acknowledgment required annually
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required annually with documented scores
• Color blindness testing required for certain clinical areas (e.g., Emergency Department)

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with solid experience in Radiology/Cardiology, EPIC proficiency, and readiness to work a structured evening shift with call responsibilities and floating duties.
