• Night shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• One weekend call per month
• 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Surgical Services required; more experience and prior travel experience preferred
• Experience with Censitrac instrument tracking tool, Steris washers and sterilizers, VPRO max, ultrasonic, and Medivators is beneficial

Required Certifications

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) OR CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA preferred

Required Qualifications

• Sterile Processing Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Valid certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CSPDT)
• Prior travel experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• Ability to work night shifts and weekend call as scheduled

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N-95 or equivalent masks required; PAPR not accepted)
• Immunizations and health screenings required within 72 hours of contract signing:

  • TDAP or TD vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual TB questionnaire for positive responders)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if low/equivocal titer
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination required
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if low/equivocal titer
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct-April); mask required if declination submitted
  • COVID initial series or facility-specific declination required (annual boosters not required)

Competency and Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Pass/fail testing for EKG/medication required for RNs (not applicable here but noted for facility compliance)
• Orientation and safety training modules must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• HIPAA and Fair Warning quiz modules must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific documents including:

  • Notice of Employment
  • Standards of Conduct and Behavior
  • Dress Code Policy Acknowledgement
  • Agency Checklist
  • COVID declination if applicable
  • Annual TB questionnaire
• Candidate must complete all required forms prior to start as mandated by the facility

References and Documentation

• Two professional references within the last 3 years required

• Skills checklist updated annually
