Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Unit Details

• 36-bed unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Unit includes general MedSurg, post-op, and oncology patients
• Occasional psych patients may require 1:1 sitter support

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Unexpired driver’s license copy required with submission
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification
• Experience with chest tubes and PleurX chest tubes

Clinical Responsibilities / Patient Care

• May administer heparin drip
• No cardiac drips
• CPAP and BiPAP are managed by respiratory therapy
• May float to MedSurg/Tele units

Support Staff

• Charge nurse available 24/7
• CNA support: 3 on days and 3 on nights
• Central monitor tech for the hospital

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• No false nails
