Adult Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• 13-week contract
• Fargo, North Dakota
• Rotating day/night shifts
• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holidays
• May float to Broadway or South University campuses as needed

Facility / Unit

• Adult Respiratory Therapy assignment based in a large multi-campus hospital setting
• Campus/unit context includes Adult ICU, intermediate Adult ICU, ER, level IV NICU, Peds ICU, Peds, Family Birth Center, and OR/PACU areas

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Dakota
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• ICU experience
• ER experience
• Experience working in a facility with 300+ beds

Preferred Qualifications

• RRT via NBRC preferred
• ACLS (AHA) preferred
• PALS (AHA) preferred
• Adult/NICU or Adult/PICU rotation experience if applicable

Clinical Duties

• Respiratory therapy assessments and protocols
• Arterial punctures and blood gas analysis
• Ventilator and NIV therapy management
• Medication delivery
• Airway clearance
• Assist with intubations, bedside trach placement, and bedside bronchoscopy
• Tracheostomy changes and decannulation
• Extubations
• Emergency response team support
• ICU rounds
• Patient intrahospital transport

Additional Notes

• Will wait for license; application process may take 3 to 6 weeks
• Will not work alone; shifts include a charge RT and additional RT staff
• Orientation includes lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts
• Epic EMR is used for assignment creation
• Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local rate candidates
• If the clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health, that must be noted in submission, and there must be an end date 6 months prior to submission
