Job Opportunity: Nursing Float

Location: Watertown, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call requirements

Job Description

• Float RN position covering Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), and Pediatrics.
• Must be comfortable working across multiple units within a 100-mile radius.
• Coronary Care experience is required.
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties.
• Documentation via MEDITECH charting system.

Required Qualifications

• Current New York RN license.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Previous hospital RN experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles with the ability to assess and meet patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual).
• Ability to recognize safety issues and safely use patient lifts.
• Strong leadership skills, including prioritization and delegation.
• Ability to function well under stress with creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).

• This role requires flexibility and adaptability to float between various nursing units.
• Night shift work with weekend, holiday, and call responsibilities.
