Description
Job Opportunity: Nursing Float
Location: Watertown, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call requirements
Job Description
- Float RN position covering Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), and Pediatrics.
- Must be comfortable working across multiple units within a 100-mile radius.
- Coronary Care experience is required.
- May be required to assume charge nurse duties.
- Documentation via MEDITECH charting system.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York RN license.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Previous hospital RN experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Thorough knowledge of nursing principles with the ability to assess and meet patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual).
- Ability to recognize safety issues and safely use patient lifts.
- Strong leadership skills, including prioritization and delegation.
- Ability to function well under stress with creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Additional Information
- This role requires flexibility and adaptability to float between various nursing units.
- Night shift work with weekend, holiday, and call responsibilities.
