Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Unit: Neuro Trauma ICU (NTICU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 20
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 10 nurses
  • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 10 nurses
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2 or 1:3 (with staffing challenges)
• Equipment Used: Camino ICP, CRRT, EVD, Wound vacs, arterial/CVC lines
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Required Skills & Experience

• Specialty: Trauma and/or Surgical ICU background
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years in ICU nursing
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Preferred Skills

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses)

Typical Procedures Performed

• Central line insertions
• Chest tube insertions
• Arterial line insertions
• Percutaneous tracheostomies

Work Environment & Culture

• Teamwork-oriented unit
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) or navy bottom with white top
• Floating Areas: MICU, NSICU, CICU, CVICU, K7 PCU, G7 PCU, 4H CVPC
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
