Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (rotating weekends)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Floating: Required to float within the facility

Unit & Work Environment

  • Work in a CVICU setting supporting cardiovascular cases including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cardiac catheterization with devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO.
  • Documentation system used: Meditech
  • Dress code: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket; clean and healthy nails; neat hair with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair must be neatly trimmed; body art should be covered when possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
  • Strict attendance and punctuality policies with required badging in/out and a full 30-minute lunch break.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
  • Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry

Procedures Commonly Performed

  • Care for patients post-CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
  • Care for patients post-VAD (Ventricular Assist Device)
  • Management of patients with cardiac support devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • Floating policy applies to all travelers.
