Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery (Travel)

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Orthopedic unit with 30 beds
- Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
- Equipment used: Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- IV starts
- Foley and straight catheterization
- CPM application
- Early mobilization of patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year, including orthopedic surgery experience
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with Meditech EMR
Work Hours
- Approximately 36 hours per week
