Unit Information

Orthopedic unit with 30 beds
Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
Equipment used: Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Typical Procedures

IV starts
Foley and straight catheterization
CPM application
Early mobilization of patients

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year, including orthopedic surgery experience
Experience in an acute care setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

Medical/Surgical nursing experience
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience with Meditech EMR

Work Hours

Approximately 36 hours per week
