Mammography Tech - Utah (Murray)

Job Summary

  • Perform radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic films for detecting breast tissue abnormalities.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using judgment, creativity, and initiative.
  • Conduct advanced mammography procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages.
  • Operate mammographic equipment to ensure diagnostic image quality.
  • Use radiation protection measures to ensure safety and comply with ALARA program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Work Schedule

  • Day shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week (Monday to Friday).
  • Includes 2 Saturdays within the contract period.
  • Total hours per week: 40.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in Utah.
  • Minimum 1 year of mammography technologist experience within the last year.
  • ARRT registration.
  • ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience performing drainage procedures.
  • Proficient in operation of mammography equipment.

Skills and Competencies

  • Competency in patient positioning for mammography.
  • Knowledgeable about breast self-examinations and able to educate patients.
  • Skilled in performing radiologic mammography and advanced procedures.
  • Ability to operate and maneuver mammography equipment effectively.
  • Strong manual dexterity and physical ability to lift, push, pull, stand, and walk.
  • Accurate and thorough documentation and record maintenance.

Additional Information

  • Must stay current with new procedures and equipment to maintain high skill levels.
  • Radiation exposure history should be tracked via personal dosimeter badge; prior exposure records encouraged to be used if available.
