Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary

Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during the assigned shift. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The role involves floating to various inpatient units such as Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICUs as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous patient evaluation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Precept and support nursing staff from various units.
• Complete unit nurse leader training as required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

• No on-call duties.
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
