Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Billings, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (10 AM start)
Hours: 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures, with or without sedation. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and efficiency. The nurse serves as a resource to students and new caregivers and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements; perform ongoing assessments and document changes.
Develop, implement, and communicate individualized plans of care to meet patient goals.
Respond to patient comfort needs and family requests for health information.
Apply aseptic techniques and monitor compliance within the surgical team, initiating corrective actions as needed.
Support, educate, and reassure patients and families.
Integrate theoretical knowledge into clinical practice and use evidence-based research to improve patient outcomes.
Evaluate nursing care quality and participate in activities to enhance patient care and the healthcare environment.
Document equipment use and assist with inventory management.
May float to other perioperative or nursing units as needed within competency.
May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, with recent experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
