Respiratory Therapist II - Pediatrics

Schedule

• Nights
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• May be required to work on-call days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS
• NRP
• PALS
• CPFT
• Advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in Bronchoscopy Lab
• Experience in a hospital setting
• Oscillator experience within the last 5 years
• Respiratory Therapist experience

Key Responsibilities

• Airway management
• Mechanical ventilator management
• Oxygen therapy
• Aerosol therapy
• Respiratory care procedures and treatments
• Basic bedside pulmonary function testing
• Breathing exercises
• Arterial punctures
• Tracheostomy care and tracheostomy tube changes
• Endotracheal intubations and extubations
• May perform pulmonary function testing as needed
• May transport pediatric and neonatal patients
• May perform advanced practice procedures under protocol
• May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support
• Ventilator setup, monitoring, and weaning

Additional Notes

• Works independently with minimal supervision
• Serves as a resource to other staff
• Must be able to work with pediatric, NICU, and/or PICU patients
