Location

Contract Length

• 14 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• Active NRP certification
• Arizona RN license or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience within the past 6 months
• Level II NICU experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• STABLE certification
• Level III NICU experience

Assignment Details

• Travelers will not be floated out of the NICU
• Will float to a sister facility
• Charge nurse duties may be assigned occasionally based on census
• Self-scheduling
• 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor

Clinical Setting

• NICU and Special Care Nursery
• Cares for babies 28 weeks and above
• Common patient needs include respiratory support, hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, IUGR, chorioamnionitis, PICC lines, TTN, chest tubes, passive cooling, exchange transfusions, pneumothorax, UAC/UVC management, sepsis, and NAS

• NNPs available 24/7
• Neonatologist available during the day
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7

Equipment

• GE monitors
• Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators

Additional Requirements

• Pass/fail simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation for Foley catheter insertion
