• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Floating required within the assigned 60-mile zone

Unit Details

• Emergency department float role
• Typical patient volume varies by location, about 6 to 49 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity
• No monitor techs on the unit
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Point-of-care lab testing is performed by nurses after training
• Navy blue scrubs

Orientation

• 2 to 3 days of unit orientation
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation
