MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations on various patient populations following established protocols.
- Work as an in-house MRI Tech at one location and as a mobile MRI Tech at another location 1-2 times per week.
- Float between two locations as required.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 5 shifts of 8 hours (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
- Alternative shift options considered: 4 shifts of 10 hours (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3 shifts of 12 hours (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
- Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on some weeks, adjusting weekday hours accordingly to maintain 40 hours/week
- No call requirement
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sectra and Epic systems
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- MMR vaccines or positive titers (declination accepted for mumps and rubella, not measles)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination, documented history, or declination
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted) by specified deadline
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Completion of orientation modules within 5 days of start
- Photo for badge meeting specific requirements
Additional Information
- Radius rule: must live within 60 miles
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Facility dress code: teal tops and black pants
- Parking is free
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern
Notes
- Guaranteed hours: facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- No holiday work required
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application and approved based on unit needs
