Job Opportunity: Pediatric OR Registered Nurse

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Pediatric Operating Room (OR) nursing role with required experience in:
    • Kidney transplant
    • Pediatric OR, ambulatory OR, or pediatric trauma
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (10:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • On-call requirements:
    • 1 weekend every 6-8 weeks
    • 1 weeknight per week (Monday-Thursday)
    • Holidays as operationally needed
  • Start dates available: May 18, June 1, or June 8, 2026
  • Interview availability required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric OR (Operating Room) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Kidney transplant and transplant experience
  • Ambulatory surgery experience
  • Trauma experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and Wisconsin caregiver screening
  • Education verification as applicable
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
  • Physical exam (to meet agency standard, not facility required)
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tdap vaccination proof (one dose from adulthood)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers, with medical/religious exemptions accepted
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with exemptions accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if applicable
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
  • Facility-specific forms including Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening

Testing & Competency Requirements

  • Pediatric Telemetry Pass/Fail Testing through facility LMS (WorkRamp) required for all pediatric inpatient RNs
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication competency required for clinical RNs in specified specialties
  • Remediation and retesting policies apply for failed telemetry or competency exams

Additional Notes

  • Photo for badge must be submitted in specified format and quality prior to start
  • References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required (agency standard)
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist required
