Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
  • Charting System: Epic

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
    • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year of start
  • Required immunizations or titers with acceptable documentation:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella (or documented history)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
  • Work history verification for the past 7 years
  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Must not reside in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris

  • Orientation and fingerprinting requirements apply for certain states (not Texas)
  • Some certifications and competencies may be required as applicable based on unit or patient population
  • Candidates must meet all health and safety documentation requirements prior to start
