Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Burlingame, California
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

  • Unit: ICU Float (floating to ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg inpatient units)
  • Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend
  • On-call: No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Licensure: California RN License
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of RN experience (highest required years of experience)
  • Skills: Ability to float across ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units

Background & Compliance

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, and other standard healthcare background screenings required and must be updated annually as applicable
  • Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
  • Drug testing and immunization documentation must comply with facility and state requirements

Additional Certifications (Position Dependent)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Instructor or Advanced Provider Course for NICU RNs; Essential Provider acceptable for Labor & Delivery RNs
  • CCRN (Critical Care RN)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Other competency exams as required (Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.)

Documentation & Compliance

  • Photo for badge (passport-style) required
  • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment longer than 30 days
  • Employment verification required for up to 7 years
  • References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, vendor training, and others prior to start
  • TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually
