Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Orthopedics experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification
• Ability to care for pediatric patients
• Familiarity with post-op orthopedic care

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical unit with orthopedic, neuro, and pediatric patients
• 30 beds, with potential to increase to 36
• Patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
• Typical procedures include post-op orthopedic, post-op spine, and podiatry care

Work Environment

• Day shift staffing includes 1 clinical coordinator, 5 RNs, 2 techs, and 1 unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes 5 RNs and 2 techs
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs
