Registered Nurse (Telemetry) Travel Position

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• 190-bed hospital with Level III Trauma designation
• Unit: M4 – Pediatric & Adult Medsurg (Telemetry specialty)
• Unit beds: 27
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
• Patient population includes general med-surg, pediatrics, cardiac drips, post cardiac procedures, stroke, CHF, A-fib, arrhythmias, cardiac caths/stents
• Equipment used: Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, ceiling and portable Hoyer lifts, portable cardiac monitors, defibrillators (x2 for transport), EKG machine
• Electronic Health Records: Cerner, Omnicell

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry specialty
• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Call requirement: None
• Float requirement: Yes, floats to all units except M3; assists in Emergency Room as needed
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Minimum 3 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with Cerner

Skills & Experience

• Must have experience with:

  • Telemetry monitoring and care
  • Post-operative catheter care
  • Cardiac drips with titration
  • Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Common diagnoses treated: Stroke, congestive heart failure (CHF), atrial fibrillation (A-fib), arrhythmias, cardiac catheterizations and stents, general med-surg conditions
