Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel)
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), Monday to Friday, 5x8 hour shifts
On-Call:
- Minimum 1 weekday per week
- Weekend rotation required
- On-call hours: Monday - Friday 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
Job Summary
As an Operating Room (OR) Nurse, you will demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering patient care in the OR. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR technicians to provide care according to regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital policies. Responsibilities include ensuring supplies, managing case timeliness, communicating with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting during surgeries, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.

- Approximately 250 procedures per month
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 148 patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience working with adult and pediatric patients
- Experience in OB/GYN, plastic surgery, and trauma specialties
