CT Tech - Radiology

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

Level III trauma center with 198 beds
Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology, pediatrics, inpatient behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
Accredited for PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory
Features 2 CT scanners at main campus and 1 at outpatient center
Uses Cerner EHR system
Patient population includes all ages

Position Details

Role: CT / Radiologic Technologist
Specialty: CT Imaging and general radiography
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 (including weekend hours)
Call: Occasional call required
Float: Yes, to radiology department
Number of Openings: 1

Required Qualifications

Valid CT Technologist license in New Mexico
Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
Minimum 2 years of total travel experience
ARRT (R)(CT) certification
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Experience with biopsies and CT drainage procedures
Experience with GE Healthcare CT scanners

Additional Information

Submittal requirements include resume, submission form, area-specific competency exam, and skills checklist

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
