Position Details

- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Scheduling: Self-schedule with 6 weekend shifts per period
- Floating Policy: Travelers float first to other ICUs or step-down units
Required Certifications and Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- Registered Nurse License
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (neurology ICU experience preferred)
- Advanced skills in care of neurology patients post-thrombectomy, TPA administration, and post-neurosurgery care
Unit Procedures and Equipment
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
- Bedside EVDs (External Ventricular Drains)
- A-line (Arterial line) monitoring
- Use of Baxter pumps
- Documentation via Cerner system
Additional Information
- Dress code: Navy Blue uniform required
- Neurology experienced ICU nurses are preferred to enhance patient care quality

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital
Cons
Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
