Job Overview
- Location: Newark, New Jersey
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Schedule notes: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float within skillset to ICU, CCU, CTICU, Step Down, and holding areas for admitted ICU patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Critical Care Float (1.5 years of experience)
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1.5 or more years of acute care experience
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- CCU - Coronary Care experience
- CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care experience
- Stepdown experience
Preferred Experience
- Swan Ganz catheter experience
- Exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD devices
- Previous CTICU or medical cardiology experience
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Patient ratios may be 1:1–3 for critical care and 1:4 when floated to stepdown
- Scrub color: Navy blue
