Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)

Job Description
- Position requires floating to different units as needed.
- Approximately 2 years of experience preferred.
- Two supervisory or managerial professional references required (charge RN acceptable for one). Peer references are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- NBRC
- Driver's License
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience
Compliance and Health Requirements
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start, including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, fentanyl, and others.
- TB testing options: Two PPDs or IGRA (QGOLD/TSPOT) within 12 months. For positive results, additional chest x-ray and treatment documentation required. TB questionnaire must be completed prior to start.
- Flu vaccine required annually between October 31 and May 31; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval and completion of exemption policy.
- Hepatitis B: Proof of completed vaccine series, positive titer, or declination accepted.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Positive titer or two vaccines required; no religious exemptions accepted. Boosters required if titers are negative or equivocal.
- Varicella: Positive titer or two vaccines required; boosters required if titer negative or equivocal.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: One adult dose required; titer not accepted in place of vaccine record.
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually. Candidates unable to complete prior to start may test onsite with proof of appointment.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required by agency standards (not necessarily by facility). Must state candidate is free of communicable diseases.
Additional Requirements
- Current government-issued photo ID must be provided within 24-48 hours of contract signing. Temporary IDs or paper licenses are not acceptable for initial submission.
- Address on driver’s license must match the address on the RRT license. Ohio driver’s license holders with an address within 60 miles of the facility will be considered local.
- Education verification required through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if school is not listed. Official transcripts may be required if verification is incomplete.
- Various state-specific background checks required within 30 days of start, including nurse aide registry, inmate registry, Medicaid exclusion, and abuse registry searches.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
- Employment application or resume copy required.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Floating to other units is a job expectation.
- All certifications must have the candidate’s legal name exactly as on license; no nicknames or misspellings allowed. Screenshots or photos of certifications are not accepted.
- Fingerprinting results may pend at start if facility completes onsite fingerprinting; however, the candidate must complete fingerprinting appointment before facility involvement.
- Candidates with positive TB results must complete additional facility-specific TB questionnaires and follow-up documentation.
- Candidates with flu vaccine exemptions must wear masks during designated flu season.
