Job Summary
- Accountable for the care of a group of patients in a telemetry setting.
- Focus on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
- Responsible for assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Applies evidence-based practice and participates in Practice Governance.
- Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Provides mentoring and precepting to staff.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and supports patient/family education and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments; make sound independent clinical decisions.
- Initiate, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care.
- Monitor and document patient responses to interventions.
- Facilitate and evaluate patient and family education during stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and encourage teamwork.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Support practice changes and participate in governance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Acute care nursing experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
