Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiology experience
- Pulmonology experience
- Trauma experience
- Experience with Epic
Education
- ASN
Preferred Education
- BSN
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
- Complete patient assessments and develop, implement, and update care plans
- Administer medications and evaluate effects
- Prepare patients for procedures, manage pain, perform IV venipuncture, administer blood, and monitor labs
- Discharge patients and provide instructions for safe transition home
- Document care in the EMR
- Support team huddles, delegate appropriately, answer call lights, and ensure basic care needs are met
- Communicate professionally and help resolve conflicts
