Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling is used
• Schedules are posted 4 weeks in advance

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• EKG competency
• Cardiac monitoring experience
• Groin management experience
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving the offer, with up to 2 attempts
• Must pass a simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
• Driver’s license must be provided with submittal
• Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical telemetry unit
• 29 private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4-5:1
• Common patient types include renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health

Responsibilities

• Interpret telemetry strips and identify rhythm changes
• Manage drips without titration
• Administer breathing treatments

Scheduling Requirements

• 3 weekend shifts per schedule period
• Required holiday rotation, including 2 major winter holidays and 1 major summer holiday
• Standby shifts are required

Floating

• May float within the service line and overflow areas
• Travelers float first

Orientation

• 2 orientation shifts with a preceptor

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs
• Closed-toe shoes
