Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician (Travel/Contract)
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Caseload Ratio: 8-12 patients per shift
Weekend Requirement: 1 full weekend call per month
On-Call: Approximately 7-10 days per month; must respond within 30 minutes of activation (STEMI Call team) with a guaranteed 2-hour callback
Floating: No floating between units required
Start Date: ASAP
Block Schedule: Not accommodated

Job Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Experience within the last year as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
Health & Safety
- Strict no-tobacco/nicotine policy (includes cigarettes, vaping, gum, patches, etc.)
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start, including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana panels; failure results in cancellation
- Fit testing required within 12 months of start; no onsite fit testing or exemptions allowed without approved accommodation
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON or TSPOT within 90 days) or two-step TB skin test
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required for low titer)
- Hepatitis B: Positive quantitative IGG titer within 5 years; series must be repeated if low titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required for low titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) unless approved exemption
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declinations require facility approval
- Visual acuity screening within 6 months of start, repeated annually (minimum corrected 20/40 vision)
- Color blind exam within 5 years, required for all travelers
Background & Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; international searches required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification: Transcript, diploma, or third-party verification required (highest degree completed)
- Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprinting required for behavioral health units (not applicable here)
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Completed employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually (as applicable)
- Radiation badge provided by facility for new radiology hires (including IR techs)
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for new candidates in radiology-related roles
