Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Olney, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

Provide nursing care in the Emergency Room (ER) setting for both adult and pediatric patients.
Must have general ED experience with both adult and pediatric populations.
Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients in the ED setting.
Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function.
Successful completion of background checks including criminal, education verification, and drug screening within 90 days of start.
I9/E-Verify attestation required.
Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
Immunization and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually.
Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing with minimum passing scores.

References and Work History

Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
Verification of at least 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years.

Additional Notes

This is a night shift travel contract position in the Emergency Room.
Candidates local within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not disclosed here).
Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous credentialing and compliance process prior to start.
